333 Celebration Event

Emma Green, Specialist lead OT, Mulberry wards, Fulbourn Hospital

3-3-3 (South Locality) First Anniversary Celebration Day was held on 11th July 2014. It was an all day event for service users, carers, staff and guests to come together to celebrate the successes of 1 year of the 3-3-3 system being established in Cambridge. It was felt that it was important to reflect upon, celebrate and thank staff, service users and carers for managing the changes, challenges and successes of the past year.

A Marquee was erected on the lawn in front of Elizabeth House and everyone was invited to join in with various events that were run across the day including:

A collaborative  effort to try to cycle the 221km of that days Tour De France Route ,

World Cup ‘Beat the Goalie’ challenge where teams of staff and service users represented their wards or teams and competed for the ‘World cup’.

‘The Great CPFT Bake Off’ challenge where wards and teams competed for the title of best baker

Shared Lunch and Afternoon Tea for all

Poster presentations by the 3-3-3 Teams highlighting one of the many positive developments that had been completed over the past 12 months.

Over the day approximately 100 people attended and joined in the celebration.  For those that were unable to join the event, lunch and afternoon tea were taken to them and in addition an Ice Cream Van visited the wards offering free ice cream. This was warmly received despite the wet weather on the day! The competiveness between wards and teams to be a winner was impressive, with staff and service users coming together to beat the opposing team. I have never seen such amazing cakes, people willingly cycling extra kilometres to get that bit further ahead than the nearest team or the extreme attempts at distracting the goalie! Hopefully everyone had a good time.
