PROactive Management of Integrated

Services & Environments

Rob Bode, Ward Manager, The Croft Child and Family Unit

One initiative that we’ve put in place at The Croft is to make non NHS badges for the staff.  Parents and children told us that they find the usual NHS badges difficult to read because they don’t want to stare at people’s chests!  We got a badge machine and we make badges for the staff which just give our name (not our role which is still on our NHS badge) and we try and have the lettering as big as possible.  We now wear these in addition to our usual NHS badges.  It’s a nice gentle initiative that was easy to do and comes from a paediatric ward environment.
